Disney has another hit in the making, namely Disney’s A Christmas Carol, an new feature film due to debut on November 9, 2009. As part of the promotion of the film Disney has put together Disney’s A Christmas Carol Train Tour. The film, presented in 3-D, features the voice of Jim Carrey in seven roles, including Scrooge and the three Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Other starring voices are Gary Oldman and Colin Firth.
I was able to get a sneak peek of the train tour during the set-up of the September 9th stop in Bargersville, Indiana, a very small town south of Indianapolis.

The Train is very impressive, with two locomotives and 5 cars, 4 of which are filled with displays and interactive activities open to the public. Costumes, original artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum of London, and stations where you can have a picture of yourself made into the likeness of one of the movie Characters.

After you go through the displays in the train, you then move on to an inflatable “theater” where you are treated to a preview of the 3D movie, Disney’s A Christmas Carol.

Inflatable theater! In typical Disney style, the building looks like a real brick building.

The town of Bargersville was all decked out with its usual Holiday decorations. Most of the store fronts also had Christmas trim, and even some of the houses were decorated for Christmas as well.

The arrival of the Disney Christmas Carol Train Tour was quite the event for the sleepy little town of Bargersville. Lots of fanfare for a one day stop!
